The Craft of Writing
I am an avid reader, I have over twenty years of experience in writing for
business, and I wrote a science fiction novel that pleases me greatly. These
are my only qualifications for writing these articles.
There are thousands of resources about the technical issues, theory, and
practice of writing. While this article was written without referring to any
other work, it is quite possible that some portion of the advice I offer
coincides with someone else's. If this happens, it is because the general
principles of doing something are just that—real principles that people have
discovered over and over again.
I do offer an original approach to the creative process here,
however—powerful perspectives and painless, systematic methods for
getting you started, developing your own body of work, and keeping you
working. I will be adding to this content frequently.
